Perfect for quick sessions.

What the session is

Pictorix books a vetted local photographer in New York City. You do not pick the person. You tell us the occasion - a proposal - and we match you with someone who already works in the city. Sessions run 30, 60, or 90 minutes. This page preselects Mini Memories: 30 minutes, 15 edited photos, $225, $65 deposit.

The 60-minute Timeless Moments package is $275 with a $75 deposit and 25 edited photos. The 90-minute Forever Frames package is $355 with a $95 deposit, 40 edited photos, and two locations. Prices are in USD and match the New York city page.

The photographer plans the spots and the light. That is the product, not a self-guided walk with a camera. You arrive at a meeting point they send before the shoot. They keep the route short enough for one location on the 30-minute package.

The edited gallery arrives in 48-72 hours. The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel at least 48 hours before the session, it becomes credit toward a later booking.

Best time and light

For a proposal, the useful light is the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. The sun is lower, faces look even, and the bright mid-day bounce off glass and pavement is gone. Exact clock times change with the season. Your photographer will send a window that matches the date you book.

Mid-day in Manhattan is the hardest time: hard shadows, tourist density, and little shade that still looks clean in a frame. If your only free hour is noon, say so when you book. The photographer can pick a side street, a park edge, or open shade instead of a bridge walkway.

Night proposals work on the longer packages. Mini Memories is 30 minutes and is built for daylight. If you want city lights in the background, book 60 or 90 minutes so there is time to move after the ask.

Meeting point

There is no public Pictorix storefront. The meeting point is a pin your photographer sends before the session - usually a subway exit, a park entrance, or a corner that is easy to describe. Arrive five minutes early. Wear the clothes you want in the photos. We do not run a changing room.

If you need the other person to think this is a casual walk, say that in the booking notes. The photographer can stand off to the side until you signal. They will not walk up with a camera already raised.

Crowds

The well-known backdrops - the Brooklyn Bridge walkway, Bethesda Terrace, the DUMBO view of the Manhattan Bridge - fill up on weekends and holidays. A 30-minute session cannot wait out a crowd. Early weekday mornings are quieter. If the date is a Saturday in high season, expect the photographer to use the edge of the place, not the center of the steps.

We do not close streets or hold a location. If a film crew or an event is already there, the photographer moves. That is why they plan a backup within a few minutes walk.

Rain backup

New York rain is common. A light shower is still shootable under a building overhang, a subway entrance, or a covered walkway. A hard storm is not. If the weather makes the session unsafe or useless, we reschedule and keep the deposit on the new date.

Bring a jacket you do not mind in the photos. We do not provide umbrellas as a branded prop. If you want an indoor backup, write that in the notes so the photographer can plan a lobby, a market, or a station concourse that is actually open to the public.

What we do not promise

We do not empty a landmark or close a street. The city is public. What we can promise is a local who already knows which corner is quieter at the hour you booked, a backup within a short walk, and a gallery within 48-72 hours.

We also do not run a rehearsal the night before. If you want a practice walk, write that in the notes and book 60 or 90 minutes so there is time to look at the pin before the ask.
